How I Stopped being Fat, Broke, and Miserable

In 2012, I left school at 16 with zero qualifications.

I was intelligent, but I didn’t show up to school. I had potential, but I couldn’t focus.

I was labelled as ‘easily led’. Nothing was my fault, I was the victim.

I took this attitude into my early 20’s. But it didn’t serve me well in the job market.

I meant well, but I f*cked everything up because I was:

  1. Unreliable
  2. Inconsistent
  3. Unmotivated
  4. Lacking focus

I was intelligent. I had ideas. I was a fast learner.

But lack of discipline was killing my career.

It was also killing my personal life.

I couldn’t follow healthy habits. Every week, I said I was going to:

  • Meditate
  • Eat healthy
  • Wake up early
  • Go to the gym
  • Build a business

But when the morning came, I would snooze the alarm. Skip the workout. Eat crap. Not start the business.

Eventually, I got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

I was fed up of being overweight, miserable, and poor.

I looked at successful people online and thought: “What do they have that I don’t?”

After a few months of searching, I found the answer:

  1. Discipline
  2. Consistency
  3. Determination
  4. Clearly defined plan

They weren’t more intelligent than me. They didn’t have better ideas.

But they had a stronger mindset.

So instead of playing the victim, I developed a get sh*t done attitude.

The aim was to do what’s required, no matter how I felt.

I started doing the stuff I was supposed to do:

  1. Sales calls
  2. Working out
  3. Start work early
  4. Planning in advance
  5. Less talk, more action

That was 5 years ago, and during that time I’ve:

  1. Ran 5 marathons
  2. Built 2 businesses
  3. Built my bank account
  4. Strengthened my mind
  5. Improved my relationships
  6. Coached over 160+ people

Anyone can be physically and financially wealthy.

But you must create and follow a plan. Consistently.

It’s simple, but it’s not easy.
